1). An example of water in my life is the hate of waiting in lines. As an american, and most likely most of the world, I hate lines. Everyone does, but who are we to think we deserve to skip the line over someone else? Even this weekend, my friends and I went to see "Good Hair" and we cut the line at the box office. Sure, we got our tickets sooner, but why did we feel we needed to skip the line? Its an example of water, the feeling of entitlement to not waiting, that you are more deserving than someone else.

2). Another example of navigating water would be trying to survive High School

3). A value I embrace is the value of external conformity and material comfort. I express the value of conformity because in order to navigate the water of high school, everyone hass to conform in some way. In order to achieve this, I choose to wear more popular clothing, rather than be alternative. Although I may not be a Hollister Billboard, I'm not exactly an example of someone who follows their own drum. The second value I embrace is material comfort. This is the value that having "stuff" is going to comfort or allow success. In my opinion, having "stuff" is one of the biggest american values because of the american dream and american value system.
About two weeks ago, when everyone walked into class, Mr. Smith began treating us like children. One of us said she felt sick and he promptly offered her some candy in a childlike voice. What was going on here was infantilization. Another example of this in my life is my psychology class. Whenever students ask questions, our teacher responds with a high rTvoice similar to that of someone who is speaking to a child. In my opinion, this is an extremely distespectful way of talking to high school seniors, especially because we all behave in an age appropriate manner in her class. Infantilization is occuring everyday, even in the strangest enviorments. Unfortunately, its become a part of the american culture.
